Matcha Green Tea Pudding

Finally, its my first post in 2014! Where have I been? Hahahahha, just being lazy, thats all :D (I believe that's normal,no?)

Anyway, I actually bake many things during the period, well of course only some of them that was captured by my camera :P And this pudding is one of them. Why pudding? Why matcha green tea (again?)?

Without a doubt, I will say "matcha green tea" loudly, whenever someone asks me about what flavour I like the most. Its simply intoxicate me (in a good way, of course). It has this unique bitter-sweet smell. I bet I can come up with another green tea recipes episode! They are good for baking, drinks and desserts. I've made matcha drink several times, but never got the chance to take proper photos of them.

So, now I'm going to share the recipe of matcha green tea pudding which taste......oooh heavenly. I'm using evaporated milk and uht milk in this recipe. However you can omit the evaporated and use all uht milk.

what you need :

1 sachet of agar-agar powder (7gr)
125gr sugar
1 can of evaporated milk
250ml plain uht milk
water, until all combined, total of 1 L liquid
1 egg yolk
2 tsp of maizena
4,5 tsp of matcha green tea powder

how to :
1. Prepare a pan, use a low heat position on your stove
2. mix the agar-agar powder with the sugar, water, and milk. Stir the mixture until it almost boil. Frequent stirring is needed.
3. Add about 4 tbsp of the mixture to egg yolk, mix well, and then pour it to the rest of the batter and stir well until it comes to the boiled, do the same thing to the maizena
4. repeat step 3, and dissolved the matcha powder with some of the liquid. Do not put the matcha powder directly to the pan, you will find difficulties to make them dissolved!
use fine strainer when put in the matcha green tea to the pan.
5. Turn off your stove, wait until all the steam gone.
6. Strain into mold, and let cool completely. Refrigerate and serve cool.

For this pudding, you can use your favorite homemade vanilla sauce or store-bought ones. Or else, when you're feeling lazy or troubled yourself to make your own sauce, you can add sweet condensed milk as a the sauce :D
