Milky Orange Pudding

My boys loves pudding, well, I guess almost all kids do, rite? In Indonesia, pudding is not like pudding in other continents. Here, we use agar-agar powder which made from algae, where in Japan they call it Kanten.

I've made pudding similar to this one before, but I guess it won't harm anyone if I post the almost the same recipe :D. Anyway, this pudding doesn't have layers like the previous. The taste is a bit sour (in a good way). It will depend on the type of orange juice that you use, or you can simply use orange drink powder. I add a teaspoon of jelly powder to get the chewy-like texture.

INGREDIENTS :
1 sachet agar agar powder (7gr)
1 tsp jelly powder
500 ml plain milk
500 ml orange juice, or if you use orange drink powder, use 4 sachets, mix with 500ml water.
4 tbsp of sugar, please note that the amount of sugar should be depending on how sweet/sour your orange juice.

How to :
Prepare a pan, turn on your stove, medium heat. Mix together agar and jelly powder and milk, bring to almost boil. Continuous stirring is needed. Then add
the orange juice, bring to the boil. Turn off stove.

After the steam's gone, pour the mixture to your mold carefully. Leave cool at room temperature. Put the agar in the refrigerator. Ready to serve once cold.

Milo and Oreo Pudding

Like any other pudding, this one is my boys' favorite. Well, as long as milo involved in the recipe, its almost impossible for them to reject it. And oreo? To be honest, long time ago, I'm not a fan of oreo. Don't even like it! its too sweet for my tongue. I even not letting my eldest to try this biscuit. But my hubby, who is a big fan of oreo, sometimes accidentally eat the oreo when my son is passing through. He doesn't make any responds, but after 2 or 3 times, he did asked his dad what that was. And then he try it. And he screams because its too sweet. Then he try again, again n again. And he loves it. He was 5 years old that time.
There were times when he wants oreo as his snack, but thank God it is now history. He is now 8 years old and full of conscience *big grin*. At least everything that I told him, actually remains in his mind. He knows that he couldn't get as much oreo as he wants, he doesn't want to get his tooth-ache, and he wants to stay healthy. Attaboy!

Ooh and my hubby the big fan? he also heals from his addiction. Now,in our home, oreo is an additional happiness. Just an extra for our muffin, a variation. We do enjoy our oreo sometimes, but in an appropriate and decent way (is there any decent way of eating oreo? mind your "black" teeth after you eat it :D)

So when many blogger friends, including mba Hesti work of art and Teh Ayu Momylicious, make this pudding, I'm feeling curious and interested to try too. I have bookmarked the page for so long, and finally got the chance (and time) to make it. Special thanks to diligent fellow bloggers! As for the taste, in my opinion, they are not too bad, not my favorite either. I prefer soft pudding. So if you're a fan of soft n smooth pudding, add egg yolk to the batter, it will help to make the pudding's texture softer. But don't worry, despite my so so feeling to this pudding, my boys looove it. So I guess there will be the second or third batch of this pudding.

Milk Orange Layer Pudding

I make this layer pudding sometime ago, having difficulties in updating my blog lately. My laptop is broke-down, followed by my gadget. I guess its time to draw back a little. More than a little, I guess :P

I don't want to make you all feel bored with my prolonged-laziness issue. So lets talk about the pudding. Simple ingredients with good result. I want it a bit light this time, so I skip the egg  yolk. Feel free to add a yolk for softer texture.

Ingredients A (For transparent layer)
1 tsp of plain jelly powder
250 ml water
2 tbsp sugar

canned oranges

Ingredients B (For white layer)
1/2 sachet of agar agar powder (3,5gr)
1/2 tsp of jelly powder
500 ml plain milk
sugar, please adjust the amount of sugar to your taste. I'm using 6 tbsp of sugar for this layer

Ingredients C (For orange milk layer)
1/2 sachet of agar agar powder
1/2 tsp of jelly powder
3 sachets of instant orange drink, you can replace this with orange syrup
500 ml of plain milk

I don't need sugar because the instant orange drink is already sweet.

How to :
1. Prepare a pan, turn on your stove, medium heat. Mix together Ingredients A, except the canned oranges. Bring to the boil.
continuous stirring is needed. Pour half of the mixture to your mold, wait until it has a thin skin on the surface. The skin should be strong enough to hold the canned oranges. Arrange the oranges on the first layer's surface. In the meantime let the rest of the transparent mixture stay cooked on the small heat stove. Arrange the oranges on the first layer's surface, then pour the rest of transparent mixture on top of oranges.
2. Bring the Ingredients B and C to the boil with 2 separate pan. Bring to boil. Pour it to your mold each color for each layer. Please note that every time you pour the mixture, the first mixture must have thin skin on the surface, and the other mixture should be hot so that it will stick properly to the others. Repeat until all the agar mixture is done.

I herewith join the event in a culinary group on Facebook, Masbar (MasakBareng, yuk!). I'm a new member, and this is my first post :D

Chococino pudding (Chocolate cappuccino pudding)

I was in the mood to make pudding the other day, so I started to run over my drawer and see what is left and can be use to make pudding. I only found chocolate powder. Well, at least my son will love it. The eldest love anything with chocolate. But its kinda boring to have "just" chocolate pudding, so a twist with cappuccino, perhaps?

Recipe :
1 sachet of agar-agar powder (7gr)
1/2 can of sweet condensed milk
500ml plain milk
500ml water
1 egg yolk
1 tsp of maizena
3 full tablespoon of chocolate powder

2 sachet of cappuccino instant powder
2 tbsp of sugar

how to :
1. Prepare a pan, use a low heat position on your stove
2. mix the agar-agar powder with the sugar, water, and milk. Stir the mixture until it almost boil. Frequent stirring is needed.
3. Add about 4 tbsp of the mixture to egg yolk, mix well, and then pour it to the rest of the batter and stir well until it comes to the boiled, do the same thing to the maizena

4. divide the mixture into two same amount of liquid. Add about 4 spoon of liquid into chocolate powder, mix well. Pour it to the liquid using fine strainer.
5. Repeat stage 4 to the other half of the liquid, add the cappuccino powder.
6. Add 2 tbsp of sugar to the chocolate pudding mixture. (or you can skip the sugar if you like it more bitter and chocolatey). No need to add sugar to the cappuccino pudding mixture as the instant powder itself already contains sugar.
5. Turn off your stove, wait until all the steam gone.
6. Pour some of the cappuccino batter to your mold, wait until it has thin skin on the surface then add the chocolate mixture carefully. Repeat process until done. Let cool completely. Refrigerate and serve cool.

As for the taste, I think they are yummy ! the cappuccino pudding taste a bit like toffee :) which is a good thing :D

Matcha Green Tea Pudding

Finally, its my first post in 2014! Where have I been? Hahahahha, just being lazy, thats all :D (I believe that's normal,no?)

Anyway, I actually bake many things during the period, well of course only some of them that was captured by my camera :P And this pudding is one of them. Why pudding? Why matcha green tea (again?)?

Without a doubt, I will say "matcha green tea" loudly, whenever someone asks me about what flavour I like the most. Its simply intoxicate me (in a good way, of course). It has this unique bitter-sweet smell. I bet I can come up with another green tea recipes episode! They are good for baking, drinks and desserts. I've made matcha drink several times, but never got the chance to take proper photos of them.

So, now I'm going to share the recipe of matcha green tea pudding which taste......oooh heavenly. I'm using evaporated milk and uht milk in this recipe. However you can omit the evaporated and use all uht milk.

For more green tea recipes, klik this link for the yummmmmy green tea cookie, this link for the moist and addictive steamed green tea blondies a.k.a steamed white brownies, and this link for the unique green tea muffin with cream cheese inside :)

what you need :

1 sachet of agar-agar powder (7gr)
125gr sugar
1 can of evaporated milk
250ml plain uht milk
water, until all combined, total of 1 L liquid
1 egg yolk
2 tsp of maizena
4,5 tsp of matcha green tea powder

how to :
4. repeat step 3, and dissolved the matcha powder with some of the liquid. Do not put the matcha powder directly to the pan, you will find difficulties to make them dissolved!
use fine strainer when put in the matcha green tea to the pan.
5. Turn off your stove, wait until all the steam gone.
6. Strain into mold, and let cool completely. Refrigerate and serve cool.

For this pudding, you can use your favorite homemade vanilla sauce or store-bought ones. Or else, when you're feeling lazy or troubled yourself to make your own sauce, you can add sweet condensed milk as a the sauce :D

Savory Bread Pudding

Whenever I crave for something sweet but I don't have much time, bread pudding is always become my top of the list. Its easy-peasy, only take less than 5 mins to prepare, and taste good. Good enough to stop my craving. I make so many variations with bread pudding. Mostly the toppings. Pretty simple, eh? Raisins n almond, triple choco, banana choco chips, banana almonds, apple raisin and many more combinations.

But this time I'm craving for something salty, like chips that aren't healthy and full of msg :D so to avoid me for munching over a big bag of salty potato chips, I decided to make savory bread pudding. This idea came after doing a refrig cleaning and found out that there are some frozen food that is only a single serving each. So I use 1 piece of smoked beef, 1 piece of smoked chicken, cut them nicely, add small cubes of quick melt cheese and some mushrooms. And add the milk+cream+egg mixture. Voila! Savory bread pudding, at your service! So by changing the sugar into salt n pepper, turn out to be grrrreat. It taste like oven baked macaroni :D yeayyy for me!

So here's the recipe :
3 slice of bread
1 smoked beef
1 smoked chicken
Quick melt cheese, cut into small cubes, as many as u like. Note that the more you use it, the more gooey it will be (you can also use diced cheddar cheese, it will taste as good, only less gooey)
6 pcs canned champignon mushroom, sliced

Mix together with balloon whisker :
120ml cream
250ml plain milk
3/4 tsp salt
Pepper to taste
pinch of grated nutmeg
2 eggs
2 tbsp of melted butter

For topping :
Grated cheddar cheese
Chopped celery

HOW TO :

Cut the bread into cubes about 2*2cm. Spread it on your buttered baking pan
Spread the smoked beef+chicken+quick melt cheese+mushroom, and then pour the milk mixture
Add grated cheddar cheese and chopped celery
Baked for about 30-35 minutes, 175deg, until a toothpicks inserted comes out clean

Triple chocolate bread pudding

This recipe is exactly the same as the previous bread pudding, the differences are : I use chocolate bread, chocolate milk, choco chips, and I also add loadsa choco chunks. Should we call it "extreme choco bread pudding"?

Its definitely a treat for the chocolate lovers around the globe, the chunks melted and make it even more chocolatey. I failed my diet, again. Heck, diet is just a "die" with a "t", some says.

I don't put any sugar to this bread pudding as I use chocolate milk which is sweet enough, not to mention the choco chips and choco chunks :D :D

So here it is, you can simply adjust the ingredients according to your liking :)

4 slice of chocolate bread
200ml chocolate milk
125ml uht cream/cooking creme

pinch of salt
2 egss
1tbsp butter, melted

choco chips
your favorite chocolate bar or you can also use dark cooking chocolate

How to :
1. Pre-heat your oven at 180 degree celcius
2. Grease your baking pan with generous amount of butter
3. In a mixing bowl, mix the cream, milk, sugar, egg, yolk, salt, and melted butter until well combined
4. Cut the bread into small pieces and spread half of the bread to the baking pan.

5. Pour in half of the cream mixture, choco chips and choco chunks/dark cooking chocolate
6. Put the rest of the bread to the second layer, pour the rest of the mixture, sprinkle the choco chips.
7. Bake for 30 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.

Less ingredients for a super yummy result. Addictive, it is :)

Leftover bread is always a homework for me. I don't want to waste it, but sometimes I have to think hard what to do with it. I usually make something simple, not time consuming kind of food. So this bread pudding is the answer. Its delicious, easy-peasy, n doesn't required so much ingredients and effort. Been trying many recipes, but this trial and error one is my favorite.

125ml uht cream/cooking creme

pinch of salt
3 full tbsp sugar
2 egss

Cinnamon
Almond slice
Raisins
Powder sugar

How to :

5. Pour in half of the cream mixture, sprinkle the raisins
6. Put the rest of the bread to the second layer, pour the rest of the mixture, sprinkle the raisin, almond slice and cinnamon.

Strawberry yoghurt pudding

Yuhuuuuu its been a long time haven't visit my blog. A week is quite a long time, rite? Been busy with this and that and etc.

I actually bake few stuffs, well, honestly re-bake some of my recipes from the past posts. Just to make sure that it worked really well. Haha that's a silly n dumb excuse. The truth is, me n my hubby looooove the lemon yoghurt cake that I baked few weeks ago n ask me to bake the same cake again for the third times! Need any more prove of how good it taste? :D

So, I guess it is time to move on. I make this pudding as per my son's request for a healthy snack. Tadaaaaa, here it is an easy to make yet delicious n hopefully healthy enough for children (and parents) daily snack : strawberry yoghurt pudding.

I kinda grab anything that is available on the refrig, you can easily adjust the ingredients as you like.

1 sachet of agar-agar powder (7gr), you can replace this with gelatin
250gr strawberry yoghurt
10 tbsp of sugar, or depending on how sweet/sour your strawberries
200ml of plain milk
200ml strawberry milk
250ml water
125ml cooking creme
325gr fresh strawberry, cut into chunks and process until smooth with blender
1 egg yolk, lightly beaten

As for the sauce, you can use your favorite vanilla sauce, but this time I make a simple strawberry sauce.

for sauce:
12 strawberries, process until smooth with blender
6 tbsp sweet condensed milk
1 tbsp sugar
water
=> mix all the ingredients together, put it on a stove an bring to the boil. Done

Method :
1. Prepare a pan, use a low heat position on your stove
2. mix the agar-agar powder with the sugar, water, and milk. Stir the mixture until it almost boil. Frequent stirring is needed.
3. Add about 4 tbsp of the mixture to egg yolk, mix well, and then pour it to the rest of the batter and stir well until it boiled
4. Turn off your stove, wait until all the steam gone.
5. Add in the yoghurt, creme and strawberry. Mix well.
5. Put it on your jelly moulds and leave it to cool.

Unmould before eating and pour in the sauce...yummmmmm

My younger son looooove it so much he ate 3 moulds of the pudding at a time! as my eldest, he never likes anything with strawberry but he surprisingly managed to finish his first mould. Good job :D

Puding roti almond+kismis

another breakfast story :d eh sebenernya, another attempt to save the roti tawar sih, hahahah. Besok expired, tp msh ada 4 lembar. Hadooooh PR bener deh kalo kyk gini. Jadi harus mikir, mau dibikin apa ya, yg juga disuka sama penghuni rumah. Untuk ini, nama Bayu terpaksa di skip, dia mah roti cuma mau dimakan pake selai coklat aja dan meses. Bentuk lain? gak bakal mau sentuh *sigh*

duluuu  pernah buat pudding roti, ala ngasal, gak pake resep.

4 lembar roti tawar
100ml creme
200ml susu uht plain
1 sdm unsalted butter, dilelehkan
2 butir telur
1 kuning telur
3 sdm gula pasir
sejumput garam
kismis dan almond slice sesuai selera
sedikit kayu manis bubuk untuk taburan

caranya :
1. Potong2 roti tawar, sktr 3x3cm (kalo saya karena males  biasanya dicabik2 aja :p), tata sebagian di pyrex/ramekin.
2. Campur susu, kreme, gula, melted butter, garam, telur, aduk dgn balloon whisker sampai rata siramkan sebagian ke roti.
3. Taburi dengan kismis
4. Tata lg sebagian dari roti tawar, siramkan sisa campuran susu
5. Taburi kismis dan almond slice, dan kayumanis bubuk. Diamkan sampai menyerap

Nyalakan oven api sedang, tunggu sampai benar2 panas. Panggang sekitar 30-35mnt.
Rasanya? Kali ini gak kemanisan *joged-joged*. Passs manisnya, enyak, creamy bgt dan lembut di mulut. Sekali makan, Satria langsung menghabiskan 1/3 pyrex, hahaha. Alhamdulillah pada suka. Monggo dicoba :D

puding kukus ubi ungu

ini sejilid sama ager2 ubi ungu, krn memang bikinnya diwaktu yang bersamaan. Akibat kefefet dan dunno what to do aja, came up with this recipe.

Puding kukus ubi ungu

2 buah ubi ukuran kecil, atau 1 yg sedang, kukus, dilumat pas masih panas
susu uht plain kurleb 150ml
butter 1 sdm
telur 1 butir

semua bahan diblender jadi satu, masukin wadah tahan panas, kukus. Done!

Teksturnya setelah jadi, atasnya kayak bolu, tp dalemnya (kliatannya) kayak eskrim, padahal sih ngga, hehehehe. Cuma memang lembut menyerupai cake, tp padat. Enak kok, tp enak menurut saya loh ya, gak jamin semua anak suka ah, nanti jadi ikutan tanggung jawab, wkwkkwkw

Monggo dicoba ibu2, itu bisa juga dikasih kismis or keju. Kmrn mau nyisipin kismis kok kelupaan. Gpp deh yg penting anakku doyan. Slamat mencoba :)
